QoSMobile Presentation

The Personal Mobile Television is already a commercial reality in multiple countries. The Quality of Service (QoS) actually delivered to the end-user will definitely be a key factor for the successful adoption of this new service. The QoSMobile project is intended to address the problems faced by network and service operators on the supervision and monitoring of mobile television networks.

QoSMobile platform Overview

Objectives

• Supervise the Mobile TV networks in an end to end manner
• Introduce the end user's perception at the heart of the Quality of Service monitoring
• Integrate and feed a propagation simulator in order to monitor and optimize the network coverage
• Set up a feedback mechanism on network elements for network optimization
• Monitor the key parameters and use them to evaluate the QoS delivered to end users

• Strong expertise complementarity between the contributors concerning chosen standards: DVB-H, DVB-SH, OMA-BCAST, IPDC
• Platform fully adapted to operators' needs
• Integrated solution proposal reducing the CAPEX of service providers

Expected results

• Innovative and multi-standard prototype for Mobile TV network monitoring
• Validation of the prototype thanks to integration and testing on the Im@g’in Lab platform
• Commercial results for all 5 partners
